Pennsylvania's cities have been putting out distress signals for years, but sometimes it seems no one is listening. Keystone Crossroads is a fresh look at and a new conversation about Pennsylvania's cities and towns.

We report from across the Commonwealth. We talk to leaders and neighbors, teachers and shop owners, planners and entrepreneurs. We document how distressed cities, once symbols of industrial excellence, struggle with pension deficits, empty factories and brain drain.  Just as important, the Keystone Crossroads team reports on success stories of reinvention and on promising solutions, documenting this important moment when communities answer the question: Rust or revival?

You are invited to be a part of the conversation. You can find Keystone Crossroads on public radio and television, here on the Web, on Facebook and Twitter, and in community forums near you.

Keystone Crossroads is a statewide public media partnership, involving WHYY in Philadelphia, WITF in Harrisburg, WESA in Pittsburgh and WPSU in State College. The project is a Local Journalism Center funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  WQED in Pittsburgh is an affiliated content partner.
